I recently took a cruise out of New York to the Bahamas and I want to tell you about it.  First thing is that living in New York it is a wonderful thing not to have to fly to your destination to take your cruise?  I went with my wife and a group of friends. We were 25 people in all.

The ship leaves port at 4PM and they wanted us on the ship by 1PM.  We actually could start eating; I mean boarding at 11AM.  I wish I had gotten there by 11 to partake in what the ship has to offer as early as possible. We got on board and headed directly to the buffet.  The food was OK and there was plenty of it. I am told that on my 7 day cruise they cooked the equivalent to 23,000 meals a day!!!!  A day????  Wow!!!!.

Besides eating there were shows.  The Entertainment was fantastic.  It was really professional and tasteful.   There was a casino and 12 bars along with movies, bingo, sports, swimming, etc etc I could go on and on.

I won’t tell you the cruise line because I was not crazy about the design of the ship: I thought it was way too crowded. Or the attitude of the staff: they were very cranky and seemed much uninformed about the ship.  I don’t want to give it a bad name and all in all I had a great time.

When you decide on a cruise you need to do your homework.  It is not so much the cruise line that you want, but the ship. Ask around and find out which one you really want to go on and of course where you want to cruise to.

All I can say is happy sailing and may the seas be with you.
